青森県の伝統工芸品（手振り鉦〔手平鉦〕）

昭和20～30年代頃から、岩木山への登拝行事であるお山参詣に使用され始めたと言われており、現在では、青森ねぶた祭り、ねぷた祭りなどで使用され、欠かせない存在となっている。
原料となる真鍮板を切断する工程以外は全て手作業であり、金鎚やならし床を用いて真鍮を打ち出すことで強度を高め、均一に圧力を加えることで良い響きに仕上がる。
持ち手は激しい演奏に耐えられるよう、組み紐で編まれる。

The Handheld Gong That Brings Aomori’s Festivals to Life with Its Beautiful Sound

It has been said that these instruments began to be used between the late 1940s to 1950s for Oyama Sankei, a pilgrimage event to ascend the sacred Mt. Iwaki. Today, they have become indispensable items in various festivals across Aomori Prefecture including the Aomori Nebuta Festival and Hirosaki Neputa Festival. 
Every process, except for cutting the raw brass plates, is crafted by hand. The strength is enhanced by hammering them out and applying even pressure with hammers and leveling floors to create a resonant sound. The handle is woven with a braided cord to withstand the intensity of the performance.
