青森県の伝統工芸品（大鰐こけし・ずぐり）

素朴な中にも華やぎのある「大鰐こけし」、色彩が美しい「ずぐり」

大鰐こけしは明治初期に温湯温泉津軽系こけしの発祥地である温湯温泉から大鰐温泉に移り住んで木地挽きを始めたこけし職人たちが、大正時代になってこけしを作りだしたのが始まりである。
大鰐こけしの特徴は、張りぎみの肩からまっすぐに伸びる胴体と、そこに描かれるあやめ模様にある。あどけない笑みを浮かべるその表情は、見る者に素朴な温かみを感じさせる。
ずぐりは色彩豊かな独楽であり、雪国の子供たちの玩具として親しまれている。


Simple but gorgeous “Owani” Kokeshi Dolls and beautifully colorful “Zuguri” spinning tops 

At the beginning of the Meiji period (1867-1911), artisans living in the Nuruyu Onsen area, where the Tsugaru kokeshi doll originated, moved to the Owani Onsen area. They began sawing lumber, which they eventually used to make kokeshi dolls during the Taisho period (1911-1925).
Owani Kokeshi dolls are broad-shouldered and have a straight and slender body, which is painted with an iris flower pattern. The dolls have an innocent smile, evoking a feeling of warmth in those that admire them.
Zuguri is a colorful spinning top that has been popular as a toy for children living in in the snowy regions of Japan.
